Personalized Academic Coaching for Bay Area+ Students
Your child has always been capable. But somewhere between upper elementary and middle school, learning can quietly become harder — and school starts to feel heavier than it should.
Concepts like fractions, pre-algebra, reading comprehension, and writing may no longer feel intuitive. Confidence dips. Motivation fades. And parents are left wondering whether this is “just a phase” — or something deeper.
For over 12 years, we’ve worked closely with families across the San Francisco Bay Area, guiding students through these pivotal academic years with care, clarity, and intention.
Why these years matter
The transition from 4th–6th grade, for ex is one of the most important periods in a student’s academic life. When foundational skills aren’t fully solidified, students often begin to internalize frustration — even if their grades still look “fine.”
At Ehm Academy, we focus on more than tutoring:
We teach students how to learn, not just what to memorize
We use evidence-based learning strategies proven to improve retention and confidence
We build study systems, organization, and habits that last far beyond one class
This approach allows students to regain momentum — and keep it.
A thoughtful, individualized approach
Every student we work with receives a custom learning plan, tailored to their academic needs, learning style, and long-term goals.
Our students have gone on to thrive at some of the most competitive schools in the region, including Woodside Priory, Crystal Springs Uplands, Sacred Heart, Menlo, Harker, St. Francis, and others throughout the Bay Area.
Our team is small by design — a highly specialized group of graduate-level educators who value relationships, communication, and long-term growth just as much as results.
Let’s support your child — the right way
We believe learning should feel empowering, not overwhelming.
We’d love the opportunity to learn more about your child and design a plan that helps them feel confident, capable, and prepared for what’s ahead.

📝 Lessons: virtual, via Google meets + a real-time e-whiteboard we use called Jamboard which allows us to be on the same page together, in real time, with no lagging.
🗓 Lesson invitations are organized and accessible via Google Calendar.
🖥 We strongly recommend an iPad and pencil or another tablet for our math & science lessons so we can practice attacking problems, in a hands-on approach, like needed on test day(s)~
📈 After every lesson, we'll send a report detailing the work we did, areas of focus, relative homework, and the next steps for the coming lesson.
💸 Payments are handled via Venmo: @ehmacademy, where I'll simply ping you at the end of every week.
We strive to make this process as simple and easy for you as possible!

Parent FAQ
Who do you work with?
We support students in grades 4–12, from upper elementary through high school. Our work often begins with strengthening foundational skills and continues through advanced coursework, test preparation, and long-term academic coaching.
What types of support do you offer?
We provide personalized, 1:1 academic coaching that may include subject tutoring, homework support, test preparation, study skills, and executive functioning. Every plan is customized — no two students learn the same way, and we treat them accordingly.
Is tutoring virtual or in person?
All sessions are virtual, allowing us to work with students across the Bay Area and beyond while maintaining consistency, flexibility, and access to the best-fit educator for each subject.
How do we get started?
We begin with a free consultation — no pressure, no obligation. This allows us to understand your child’s needs, goals, and learning style before recommending a thoughtful plan. Families may enroll immediately afterward if it feels like a good fit.
Do students work with one tutor or multiple tutors?
Most students work with one consistent tutor to build trust and continuity. In cases where a student is balancing multiple subjects (for example, Algebra 2 and Chemistry), we may thoughtfully introduce an additional tutor — always with clear communication and coordination.
How do you measure progress?
Progress is tracked intentionally and transparently. Depending on the student, this may include:
Pre- and post-assessments
Demonstrated skill mastery and independence
Improved confidence and motivation
Detailed lesson reports after every session so parents always know what was covered and what’s next
We believe progress should be felt and visible.
How often do you communicate with parents?
Strong communication is one of our core values. Parents receive clear, timely lesson reports after every session, along with ongoing insight into academic growth, mindset, and learning habits. You’ll never be left guessing.
How is pricing structured?
Our services are competitively priced for long-term results. While we encourage consistency to build meaningful progress, our approach is flexible and designed to support families without unnecessary pressure.
Do you offer last-minute or short-term tutoring?
We’re always happy to help when students need support before an exam or important deadline. That said, our philosophy centers on steady, sustainable growth and true mastery rather than quick fixes whenever possible. The strongest outcomes come from building skills over time.
